IOU (Golden Coast Remix)

Annabel Jones, who you probably know from her track "Magnetic," and more specifically the mad popular AObeats remix, has come out with her newest song IOU and with it comes another spectacular remix of it by Golden Coast. Her dissonant vocals are bewitching and Golden Coast does an excellent job toying around with them, but more important is the stellar beat and bass. I like the "IOU" concept because in truth it seems like she doesn't really owe anyone anything and he's probably not going to get it because she cut his ass loose, but at least she admits it. YGG.

Waves (RAC Mix)

As we know, I have an incredible respect for RAC and his melodious mixes and whenever I see that he has released one of his versions of an already good song, it's wise to prepare for the best. His flair on Miguel's "Waves" capitalizes on every existing strength of the original and delivers an astonishingly contagious beat, with his signature upbeat and bubbly exuberance. I always wonder what he'll do next, but for now this one is more than enough to keep me happy for awhile. Good stuff.

Love Myself (Fareoh Remix)

Gosh I just love the cheesy pump up song sometimes. "Love Myself" is exactly that and Fareoh just takes it to another level but, in a way, by excellently toning it down as it builds. Another danceable remix to add to the books!

You're Good But I'm Better

Kill J, thanks for killin it and getting all my sadness. I wasn't quite sure about this one at first, but the more I listened to it, the more I fell in love with it. I especially appreciate the vibrant chorus and the little "woo's!" spread throughout the track. With more and more songs these days I'm like, "Whoa, I've never heard anything like this!" and honestly it's hard to know what to expect. But nothing is better than being constantly pleasantly surprised! Keep it up Kill J.

Golden

This track by Lincoln Jesser has stuck with me for awhile and, as per usual, I have waited a substantial amount of time to post it. Nonetheless, I adore the contagious optimistic vibes of "Golden," which still seems shiny and brand new to me. I love this strange and blended genre of electro/pop/alternative.

***Bonus: Another upbeat track, "Tops."

Break The Rules

Happy Friday, you hooligans. Take this track and run with it. Enjoy these pretty clichéd teenage girl lyrics in Charli XCX's awesome almost shouting vocals.

Alison Wonderland

Sorry for all of these bulk posts but ok, so I first heard Alison Wonderland (props for the very clever name/mad hats off to Lewis Carroll) back in May with "I Want U" but didn't post anything for 3 months so yeah. But she just released "Cold" actual minutes ago. It starts off as pretty #dark with some Lido-esque sound effects but then evolves and goes down the rabbit hole into a deep electronic track. I really enjoy her open confessional in this track of the chorus that just repeats "I'm too cool for this." Maybe a little stuck up, but I kind of feel that too way in some situations so thanks for Alison Wonderland for getting that.

Alison Wonderland - Cool

If you haven't heard this song I don't really know where you've been. Kind of like teenage girl fantasy-esque who can't control her hormones in the lyrics but dope drops that are surprisingly fantastic.

Alison Wonderland - I Want U

Alison might be confusing herself with the Queen of Hearts in this track, which offers a repetitive yet oddly soothing chorus of "never tell me lies." I love the electronics of this track; they seem to come and go at the perfect times.

Alison Wonderland - Lies

Hoodboi calms down "I Want U" in this sick remix that gives the track a whole new feel.

On the other hand, GANZ freaks out with this remix, making it even bigger than it was and the drops even deeper. Who knew it was possible? Go GANZ.

P.S. I'm quite unsure about the meaning behind the repeating "AA" on all of the album artwork... let me know if you have any ideas...

Circles

More and more, songs are being released that can't necessarily be categorized or placed in one single genre because music is infinitely expanding into more exploratory territories... which continues to blow my mind. I don't really know what to call this song, but I do know that I love it. Machineheart writes on the Soundcloud page for this track,
Circles ventures into this whole idea about making the best out of your situation. It's a reminder that when you face resistance or difficulty, you'll want to have people around you who are going to remind you of what your intentions were in the first place.
Pretty cool idea and well-spoken. Vanic adds some dope drops that fall at the perfect time to surround the lovely, encouraging vocals and gives it the unexpected twist that I often search for in music.

Living Without You

The last I heard from Monarchy was their bubbly and fun song "You Don't Want To Dance With Me." The lyrical content of this song is little heavy (clearly meant to be a post-breakup jam) but it's balanced well with the awesome electronic instrumentals. It's delightfully upbeat, and I can deal with that.

Heavy Crown / Volvic

What ok this song just put me in a brilliantly good mood. The bubbly 80s synth is pleasantly uplifting alongside the positive vocals ("Everything will be just fine, by default or design...") and I can't get enough! The lyrics are open and honest in a way that pop music normally strays from, but that's what makes it so good.

Also, Y.O.U.'s latest single just dropped a few days ago. It's just as amazing:
