Colour (Lost Kings Remix)

A quick little post as a hump day treat. Here's an amazing remix of "Colour" by Lost Kings, who have a pretty impressive repertoire of upbeat progressive house mixes, like their one of "Overdrive." I love a good use of keyboard/piano, which they seem to have mastered. Hope this song can get you through the rest of the week (note the repetitive chorus of "don't stop"...). Enjoy!

We haven't heard much from deadmau5 these days, other than his trademark disputes with Disney (these are clearly different species of mice, people) and his stint as an Uber X driver in Toronto in his bomb ass McLaren. I'm a fan of theatrics, and he most certainly has an edge for them. Speaking frankly though, I haven't like much of what he has released since 4 x 4=12 and Random Album Title ("Strobe" is my shit). So I guess his label mau5trap has taken to releasing baller remixes of these tracks from his prime. I'm okay with that. Kudos to you Dillon Francis to making this one dirty and to the designer of this album artwork who must have had some kind of Animorphs inspiration... good stuff.

Holding On To Heaven Remixed

I would say I'm sorry for posting more of The Chainsmokers, but I'm really not. Let's just say that this song was able to give me chills today during my run in 80 degree weather. They just do a phenomenal job with this song and bring out the best in the desperate vocals to create the perfect jam. I don't have much to say other than that, so enjoy!

Revolution

I don't think I can handle the greatness that Galantis keeps releasing. With each track, they seem to get better and better. In their latest, "Revolution," the vocals perfectly pair with the building and falling beat. The lyrics are pretty admirably cheesy, but that factor doesn't bother me because it's just that good. To me, they balanced everything out very well in this song and I am so glad their EP has been completely released, but can't wait for more from them!

Again with the cheesy lyrics, but what can you do. The beat is solid and it follows throughout the song. Anyways, before 3LAU did his own original material, I knew him for his mashups and "Inspired By Rehab" still remains as my favorite mashup that I've ever heard, so I decided it was worth posting here even though it's like 2 years old.

Galantis' latest track does not disappoint (and neither does its accompanying freaky cat album artwork), as it continues to bring their positive vibes with surprisingly refreshing vocals and a meticulously magnificent melange of electronic beats in the background. Galantis comes to us with another wondrous track: "The Heart That I'm Hearing." The piano again gives us the feel of Miike Snow but the beats in the background give it that Galantis house-ish feel. The repetition of this song is comforting in a way; however, it definitely is fitting for this freaky Friday as soon is it breaks down to give us the sounds of a heart pulsing in the background to pump you up into overdrive.

Galantis consits of Christian Karlsson of Miike Snow and Linus Eklow (aka Style Of Eye) and though their styles are totally different, they come together to create something close to perfection. This original material brings upbeat vibes like that of The Chainsmokers and I honestly can't get enough. The piano really reminds me of Miike Snow's songs but the added element of electronica takes this song out of this world. I really can't wait to hear more of Galantis  (and see more trippy cat album artwork) as they release more from their upcoming EP.

I didn't post yesterday because I was too busy watching The Sopranos and/or sleeping and because the only song I have been listening to is THIS ever since The Chainsmokers released it on Tuesday. Of course Chromeo has done an excellent job with their original "Jealous (I Ain't With It), vocalizing a sort of confessional that is often held back. However, The Chainsmokers take this song to the next level (note: the piano chords in the beginning) and build the beat fabulously to give us drops that blossom out like an awesome firework show.

Lightning

I first heard Cash Cash when they released this bomb ass remix of Rudimental's Free and their most recent independent song Lightning does not disappoint as a followup to that remix or their song with Adrian Lux, Bullet. Granted, the lyrics are pretty cheesy, as per most newly released progressive house songs, but it's undeniably catchy and you can't help but put on your dancing pants when you hear it. If you're too lazy to click on the links for their older songs, I don't blame you, so I also put them below!

Hey remember when I posted that song Young Hearts by Strange Talk a few weeks ago??? Well yeah it's back with a fantastic twist, with help from one of my favorite DJ duos, The Chainsmokers. The song, as I previously wrote, was pretty spectacular untouched, but this remixed just gives it a little more love with some dope drops that will undeniably make you want to dance.
