I've always enjoyed the master of therapeutic 80's synth sounds that is Com Truise because there's truly nothing else out there like it. Most of his songs are transcendent and take you to another dimension with the intricate blend of beats. Songs without words are always a good way to forget real feels and just be and Com Truise's, for the most part, upbeat tracks really let you wander into exploration. The 80's vibes really give you the sense of Back to the Future--they give respect to the past but also look forward in a super futuristic way. These are the latest from his upcoming album Silicon Tare due out April 1, soak 'em up!

Utopia

After a stupid week, this song really has let me to the utopia of days: Friday. And that prism light album artwork! I obsess over prisms of light so, you know, this seemed to come to me just at the right time. I love a good electronic track sans words, because sometimes talk is too much and you just need feels. It's always amazing how sounds can create a poetry of their own. Happy weekend!

Midnight

In my case, it's already far past midnight, but I really like this track to help me relax and chill before I go to bed. There are no words to take in, just a good series of instrumentals that steadily build as the song goes on; hence, it's a pretty good thinking song. Nothing quite like an unexpected source of zen to make you feel at ease.

You should already know how much I absolutely adore Broke For Free (aka Tom Cascino). He released the entire Petal album earlier this summer, and it is absolutely pristine, especially for a mellow Monday like today. It's definitely an album I can listen to in its entirety and is available for free to download on Bandcamp (see embed link below). I already posted some of my favorites that were released earlier this year, but of the new releases on this album, I highly suggest "Summer Spliffs," "Add And," & "Melt." Check them out here: 

I Am

This is one of those instrumental tracks that I really enjoy but I can't exactly tell you why. In "I Am," Nicholas Cheung brings us a soothing blend of hushed whispers, more or less, with a nice slow beat that just lulls me to sleep. On that note..........

Wow, so okay the very talented Tom Misch is only 18 and is a composer, songwriter, guitarist, violinist, and singer. He has recently come out with an EP that was entirely produced in his bedroom. Seriously cool. I'm not even going to bother asking what you were doing at 18 because I wouldn't really like to give the honest answer to that either. Anyways, when asked about the EP (check out the whole thing here), Tom reported back, "Basically this EP is me attempting to making instrumentals that will affect people's moods in a positive way but also make people think, all produced and recorded by myself in my bedroom. I've used a combination of obscure jazz samples, but mostly live instrumentation that I've recorded, so I recorded guitar, violin, bit of vocals and sound effects, etc." He seems like a pretty cool dude and his music speaks for itself with more chill vibes than I can even handle.

Broke For Free

Sometimes there is nothing more refreshing than a song without words. All you need is the right instrumentals to keep you anticipating what the beat could possibly bring. I am a huge fan of Ratatat, and I feel like this group, Broke For Free, somewhat stems off of that genre of lyric-less music. Although I feel like Broke For Free is more string/guitar based than electronic, there is definitely a pleasant and calming vibe to all of it. Check out some of my favorites below!
