Fais Rien

Wow, okay. I never thought I would hear a song condoning one of my favorite activities, that is, to do nothing, which is the meaning of this track's title. (I guess my French proficiency helps sometimes...)  The majestical Moi je (= me I [?]) hails from Lyon, France, one of my favorite cities. But anyways this upbeat bippity boppity tune is perfect for my everyday lazy day lifestyle, which, yes, I know, won't last. But I'm certainly enjoying it while I can! Fais rien, all day, every day.

Silverlined

Well, it's been a hell of a month. I don't really know why it's been going so quickly (maybe because I've had so much shit going on...) but here we are with a little less than a week left. À la Green Day if "Wake Me Up When September Ends" was for real this was hardly me closing my eyes. BUT WAIT there's a silver lining. Duh. That's where this song comes in. It's so catchy and upbeat you can't help but let it make you crack a smile. So when things get heavy remember that most of the time it's silverlined... hehe listen below and you'll get it!

You Are My Summer

I don't know much about La+ch, the producer of this track, but from the sounds of it, he knows what he's doing in terms of creating one of the catchiest tracks of this summer. Coleman Hell and Jayme (more artists that I've never heard of prior to this track) sing silly but awesome characterizations of summer over the contagious backbeat, which, by the way, lives up to my hopes with its awesome sax and glockenspiel instrumentals. Can't get enough of this one.

I Got What You Need (Every Night)

Oh, this is just another amazingly and contagiously upbeat track of which I can't get enough. It's short and sweet and to the point. The openly honest lyrics present an offer which more often than not gets lost in obscurities between two people, so its pretty refreshing to hear. It's true, "everybody needs someone," and this song does indeed have what I need.

Circles

More and more, songs are being released that can't necessarily be categorized or placed in one single genre because music is infinitely expanding into more exploratory territories... which continues to blow my mind. I don't really know what to call this song, but I do know that I love it. Machineheart writes on the Soundcloud page for this track,
Circles ventures into this whole idea about making the best out of your situation. It's a reminder that when you face resistance or difficulty, you'll want to have people around you who are going to remind you of what your intentions were in the first place.
Pretty cool idea and well-spoken. Vanic adds some dope drops that fall at the perfect time to surround the lovely, encouraging vocals and gives it the unexpected twist that I often search for in music.

Need Ya // NINETIESGIRL

I love everything about this song, and yes, that includes the bizarre outro. Kailo's voice is like honey and the repetitive "I need ya's" of the chorus give this song the most positive, feel good vibes you could imagine. Do yourself a favor: listen to it now and be happy.

Bonus: Any song with this title is an instant winner in my book.

Tear It Down Remixed

This is another one of my summer anthems... it makes me happy every time I listen to it and never ceases to make me want to jump up and dance. Nothing is better in a disco-esque remix than some jazzy sax, amirite?! No really, I do love it.
