Never Be Like You (Disclosure Remix)

Yes, it's possible--good can always get even better. This recent collab between Flume and Disclosure does their previous ones justice. Obviously, the original "Never Be Like You" was more than enjoyable, but who doesn't love a bit of added spice? Disclosure takes things up a notch, giving the track some phenomenal beats and synths, and it just makes me want to dance--in fact, I can't help but do so when listening to this remix. It's fantastic, as is pretty much everything released by these two artists.

Never Be Like You feat. Kai

Oh baby. It's been awhile since we've heard any original material from Flume but this surely meets expectations. The pairing with the Canadian singer Kai--who has also collaborated with the likes of Diplo, Skrillex, and Childish Gambino--is a smart one. Her sweetly flowing voice contrasts perfectly with the beats and bass that Flume has laid down on this one, which never cease to amaze. I'll be listening to this one for a long time to come... so good.

Insane (Sebastian Carter Remix)

Agh this is old but yet I am still obsessed with it months later. Obviously Flume is a mixing genius on his own, but Sebastian Carter switched up this track and ups the tempo without taking away from its downbeat vibes. Take away message from this track: live in your own little bubble but don't let it make you go crazy yo.

Catching Up: The White Panda

The White Panda was one of my first mashup DJ obsessions in high school, so it's awesome to me to see how their work evolves and progresses, especially as they have been releasing more and more original remixes. (Side note: sophomore year of college I said hey to them after their show and then later hung out with them at a bar, nbd). So yeah, I love them.

I don't know if any of you were as obsessed as I was with Imogen Heap's "Hide and Seek" in late middle school. The real mystery is actually what did she say?! I've been dying to know for like ten years now. I never did watch the OC, but I did catch that season 2 finale where Marissa shoots a firearm to this dramatic tune. More important, I mostly watched the SNL parody of that scene... many a time. Anyways, awesome remix of really just that classic line of the song here.

Although there have been a shit ton of Disclosure remixes, I don't think I've heard a mashup of one of their tracks. As per usual, The White Panda brings some serious originality here in pairing "Latch" with "Cooler than Me" by Mike Posner. (Like, wut? Who thinks of that?) This is a fun track and I know you know all the words.

Long live The White Stripes. I mean, even my dad loved them. And Meg White is a badass drummer. Pretty unexpected remix but nonetheless dope.

The White Stripes - Seven Nation Army (White Panda Reboot)

I love a good Flume track, and even more I think I love it with Kanye West even better. You may think that this song might have been forever marked as one of The Hangover themes, but no, this is awesome. P.S. I'm not getting a sig on my beeper.

Tennis Court Remixed

Flume does not disappoint in this latest galactic and gooey remix. The collaboration is unexpected to say the least but he works it and plays nicely off of Lorde's vocals..."it's a new art form showing people how little we care"... dope.

HyperParadise Remixed

If you haven't already heard the original of this song by Hermitude, shame on you. I'm only kidding, but really where have you been? Again, kidding. But seriously, I could listen to this song on loop for a good while. It's the kind of electronic beat that allows you to get lost in its many folds without being overwhelming or giving you too much to process. Anyways, a few days ago I came across a flip of the song by Ganz, which gives the already amazing track some added intensity. Check it out below!

*Bonus: Here's a much older remix to the song by Flume (still amazing):
